Charlie is a born leader. He possesses a suite of personality traits enabling him to lead and manage his workforce to success, despite any obstacles they may face. He is a pragmatic and organised Managing Director and Board Director with an exceptional record of leading multi-million pound businesses in need of rapid turnaround. Having joined Tower Transit Group in 2015, Charlie rapidly rose through the ranks, ultimately to position of Managing Director of three separate UK-based businesses under the Tower Transit brand.

Along this journey, Charlie successfully transformed The Impact Group into one of the most trusted minibus and coach operators in London post-acquisition by Tower Transit. Subsequently, Charlie seized the reigns of Whippet Coaches, a Cambridgeshire-based commercial bus operation, due to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2019. Under Charlie’s leadership a thorough review of the business was undertaken, resulting in the development of a revised strategic direction and vision growth. Building off the back of this transformational success, Charlie more recently co-founded Tower Transformation, developed with the purpose of operating autonomous vehicles within the UK. These demonstrations of success have landed Charlie in a number of national transportation publications, highlighting Charlie as one of the top young leaders within the industry.

As a core member of Ascendal Group, Charlie serves as the Managing Director of both Ascendal’s UK business and its Technology and Innovation division. Having received leadership training whilst serving in the British Army, Charlie is currently studying at the University of Cambridge for an Executive MBA. He is a Member of Association for Project Management (APM), is qualified in Black Belt Lean Six Sigma and is an APM Professional (APMP).

Throughout his career, he has successfully demonstrated embracing a Lean Six Sigma approach to the businesses he has led, optimising resources available to achieve a more efficient business whilst increasing patronage. Charlie has a track record of developing various new and innovative opportunities for his employers, recently including opportunities arising from the Bus Services Act 2017 in the UK and deploying new transport technologies such as autonomous vehicles and demand derived bus operations.
