Ascendal attended the "Transforming Transportation Conference", co-hosted by the World Bank

On January 16th-17th, Ascendal’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Adam Leishman, attended the Transforming Transportation Conference, co-hosted by the World Bank and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities. The theme for this year was “Connecting People for Sustainable Growth”, and it was held at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C.
The main goal was for transport leaders from around the world to discuss and offer practical solutions needed to achieve a more inclusive, better-quality, and sustainable transport, while leveraging on innovative technological advances.
Moderated by Femi Oke, an award-winning international journalist, the conference explored various topics, ranging from “Private Sector as a Driver for Sustainable Mobility” to “Harnessing Technology and the Digital Economy for Transport” and “Managing Bold Mobility Reforms to Improve Social and Economic Impact”.
It featured notable speakers, such as Axel van Trotsenburg (Managing Director, World Bank), Amani Abou–Zeid (Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, African Union Commission), Gloria Hutt Hesse (Minister of Transport and Telecommunication, Chile), and Dagmawit Moges (Minister of Transport, Ethiopia).
